FAQs
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some days call for softness and comfort, other days for colour, confidence, or simply something that helps you feel a little more like yourself again. Here are six beautiful and practical options to explore:
Soft Turbans / Caps
Best for: Minimal effort and keeping warm
Why: For on the days you just want to stay home and, soft turbans keeps the scalp covered and away from the breeze cold. Soft bamboo or cotton styles help keep you comfortable while protecting sensitive skin and catching loose hair overnight.
Beanies
Best for: Casual days and cosy comfort.
Why: Easy to slip on, gentle on sensitive scalps, and perfect for walks, coffee runs, or quiet days at home.
Wired Head Wraps
Best for: Everyday wear or glamour
Why: A beautiful balance of comfort and elegance, without the fuss of tying traditional scarves. Our wired styles can be shaped in different ways depending on your mood, outfit, or energy levels that day.
Hats & Caps
Best for: Sunny days and getting out and about.
Why: Wide-brim hats, caps, and soft berets offer extra coverage and sun protection while still feeling stylish and wearable.
At the end of the day, the “right” headwear is the one that helps you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself. And sometimes, that changes from one day to the next.
Bisous.

Most people choose headwear to match their outfit…
But when customers come into our studio, I often encourage them to think about it differently.
Rather than asking, “Does this match my clothes?”, I always suggest asking, “Does this light up my face?”
Because while our head wraps often pick up colours from what you’re wearing, what they really do is frame your complexion, your eyes, your smile and your personality. That’s why I believe the best headwear choice is usually the one that suits you, not just your wardrobe.
When a colour works beautifully with your skin tone and features, suddenly it becomes so much easier to wear across countless outfits and occasions. It feels more natural, more effortless, and often more confidence-boosting too.
Choose a colour and forms that suit your complexion and head type.
Your headwear should work with you, not against you. Often our customers choose a head wrap that
Choose headwear for the weather
On cooler days, cosy fabrics like lined cotton or wool blends can add warmth and comfort. In warmer weather, lightweight cotton voile fabrics help keep things breathable and gentle on sensitive skin.
And don’t forget, your scalp becomes much more sensitive to the sun after hair loss, so a hat with good coverage is always a lovely idea outdoors.
Re-Use the Hats You Already Love
You don’t necessarily need a whole new wardrobe.
If your favourite hats feel a little rough or uncomfortable on a bare scalp, try adding a soft liner or headband underneath for extra comfort and softness.
Keep a Few Easy Options on Hand
Energy levels can change quickly during treatment, so having a few simple “grab-and-go” pieces nearby can make getting dressed feel much easier.
A pre-tied turban or wired head wrap can help you feel polished in seconds, whether you’re heading to an appointment, meeting friends, or simply stepping out for coffee.
Comfort Matters Just as Much as Style
The most beautiful headwear is the one you actually want to wear. Look for soft seams, breathable fabrics, and styles that feel secure without being tight or heavy on your scalp.
Allow Yourself to Experiment
Hair loss can feel deeply personal, but headwear can also become a creative and empowering part of getting dressed again.
Try different colours. Play with shapes. Add earrings, lipstick, sunglasses, or nothing at all. There’s no right or wrong way to wear it- only what helps you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself.

Céline Martine offer two head wrap lengths, and the best choice really depends on the look you love, how much fabric you feel comfortable styling, and how experienced you are wearing headwear during hair loss, chemotherapy or alopecia.
Regular Length Head Wrap (square ends)
The Regular Length is our more classic and easy-to-manage option, especially popular for women new to wearing headwear during chemo or hair loss.
Why customers love it:
- Lighter and less bulky on the head
- Easier to style with less fabric to work with
- Creates a neat, classic silhouette
- Great for first-time head wrap wearers
- Ideal if you prefer a more minimal look with less volume
- Comfortable for everyday wear during chemotherapy or hair regrowth
Things to consider:
- Less fabric for twisted or more elaborate styling
- Fewer styling variations compared to the Extra Length
Extra Length Head Wrap (pointed ends)
The Extra Length is perfect if you love experimenting with styling and creating fuller turban-inspired looks while navigating hair loss or chemo.
Why customers love it:
- Allows for twisted and turban-style looks
- More versatile styling options
- Creates extra volume and shape
- Great if you already feel comfortable wearing head wraps
- Perfect for those who enjoy changing up their look or creating fuller coverage
Things to consider:
- More fabric to manage when styling
- Can feel slightly bulkier if you prefer a simple or lightweight feel
Many women experiencing hair loss from chemotherapy, alopecia or thinning hair choose their size based on the level of coverage, volume and styling flexibility they feel most comfortable with.
